Just in case you have not yet twigged, we like to name our blogs after famous jazz standards! In this blog you will be introduced to the team who man Big Bang Music.
www.bigbangsheetmusic.co.uk has come about due to the long relationship I (Jon Eno) has enjoyed with Ian Steele. As a band leader and teacher I have used Ian and his ASBMS for over 20 years, buying big band charts, play-alongs, study books, you name it, all sorts! It was an honour to accept the ownership and continuation of ASBMS and subsequently the creation of Big Bang Music.
Originally a cornet player, I now play trumpet and sax, though I love playing my Nord and Gretsch too. I manage a number of organisations including: Hot House Music Schools Limited, One Music, ROK Farm and Big Bang Music. Linked In is where most of my CV. tends to be kept so please do hook up with me here. On a personal level, I am delighted to be married to my soul-mate, Jayne, and am extremely proud of our 3 children and 1 grandchild (another is expected in November)! Family and travel are drivers and catalysts for everything I do. Currently am extremely excited about what Big Bang Music may evolve into, hopefully an invaluable resource for Jazzers all over the UK.
Jayne Eno (co-owner)
Is a primary school teacher by trade and a super positive “make things happen” worker. Having grown up in the potteries, she still sports a “wicked” Staffordshire accent, that is complimented by a “Peter Kay” type of humour. Currently learning the saxophone and singing in a Gospel Choir, Jayne spends more time than she would like sat behind a computer. She is also the owner of Hot Shots Community Music Limited, which specialises in Gospel music.
Nothing would happen without Jayne!
Is currently a director at Hot House Music Schools and recent recipient of a PGdip.ME and a number of international awards for performance. An outstanding lead trumpet player, Stu is also and extremely talented bassist and drummer! Having come up through the ranks Stu fully understands how important it is to grow your audience. Invest in the kids today, so that you have got an audience in the future. Being from Glasgow (though now a fully fledged Derby-ian), he is always keen to get back to his roots up north.
Overall a great guy!
Is an intern with Big Bang Music whilst taking a year out before heading to LCoM (Leeds College of Music) to pursue his dreams to become a jazz drummer. Josh is also a talented arranger and we hope that some of his compositions maybe some of the first pieces we sell through our Big Bang Music Publishing! Josh comes from an “arty” family, with all of them singing and dancing, of which he also indulges from time to time. Whilst on his internship he will be developing all areas of his “business” with a view to presenting a paper at the forthcoming JEN conference in Louisville
One of the legions of clerical support, Carys is a Law & French student at Cardiff University. An extremely likeable and kind worker whose literacy and sharp focus save us hours of data entry! Coming from a farming dynasty in North Leicestershire, she still likes to spend her down time on the farm with her dad’s dairy herd.
Also a brilliant trumpeter!
Another amazing clerical support superstar! Able to sit in front of a laptop for hours on end, seemingly unfazed and content. Alex is actually another Law student (Birmingham) who helps us in the office when his schedule allows. As a musician, Alex can be found studying the sax tones of Gerald Albright and David Sanborn! Alex is an incredible Alto player, who plays in the University Big Band and does a mean rendition of Against All Odds.
Another intern taking a year out before heading to LCoM, Emily is a fine singer whose main inspiration is Ella Fitzgerald. She is currently the lead singer for the Hot House Screaming Kicks Big Band and hopes to be embarking on a world tour with them in 2016. Whilst at Big bang Music she will be responsible for maintaining the extensive library.
A super happy young vocalist – always singing or humming.
And…. that is the team. They are here to serve you and get to know you, and your bands! If you have anything you would like to share then please send it through or visit our social media platforms:
